I was at the DCC and I came across what was said to be Szamboti blanks. These were in Guido Orlandi's booth. What I found unusual was the fact that the points and veneers were glued in before the blank was turned round and it didn't have any center holes cut in it. My question is if these are Szamboti's did he do this method often, and if so how do you think he did it?

I believe he did make his V pockets with the fore arm square. He cut his Vs on a radial arm saw.

Yes, Szamboti blanks were square and had no centers. The point stock would also be shorter that the veneers.
