I forgot one of the highlights of our upcoming "Gulf Coast Classic". Leonard Bludworth is creating a now to be $35,000 cue for me and we plan to have the unveiling at the Dec. tournament.Leonard has also graciously agreed to help us with renting booths.
I'm honored to be working with the APA, Sims Vibration Laboratory and Diamond Pool Products, Inc.As pool lovers generally know, I've put on some pretty good events but I have never been so excited as I am now about putting on an extravaganza.

Grady, will pictures be posted on AZ? I would deffinately like to see that cue, sounds like a nice one.

Good morning, sounds like it'll be a great cue Grady. Hope I can make it down there. It is an open tournament right? Sam

P.S. How much money do you figure it would take to start a pro tour and sched 12 events, 1 per month with a tour championship.

I'll ask Leonard about posting pictures of the cue. I don't think he'll mind.
Yes, it's an open tournament. We are using the APA ranking system and I'm going to try to be able to cross over the rankings from other leagues like the BCA leagues. If a player has no ranking at all with any league, then I'll have to enter him into the tournament as a semi-pro, unless several honorable people can vouch for his ability level.
If somebody had, say five million dollars, I think they could be filthy rich and do the sport a lot of good. That being said, without being too negative, we would need a "good" organization instead of the blights on our sport that past associations have been. In other words, we have a great sport for sale cheap. By the way, I'd be glad to help in such a venture as establishing a worthwhile tour.

If you're using rankings, doesn't that mean it is _not_ an open tournament? I thought an open tournament usually meant no handicaps.

Note, that I'm not calling it an open tournament but that it is open to anybody. If a player is not an APA league member, or a member of a crossover league where we can verify his skill level, then assuming he is not a ranked pro, we would enter him into the tournament at the semi-pro level. Any pro can also play if he or she wishes. They would simply be at the top of the ranking levels. Hope that answers your question.
