Is anybody else from here going to the US Amateur?

Also, does anybody have information about Mr. Cues, ie types of tables, cloth, etc?

Thanks in advance,

The tables are 9 footers, I forget the brand, with simonas, they have 8 in the back tournament area with slightly tighter pockets, than those in the front. They also have a large number of 8 footers but I am pretty sure you won't be playing on those.

The room is decent, but gets very smokey, the food is typical bar food but not bad, the spicey fires are the best ;-)...

It is in a small shopping center which also includes a Jersey Mikes, Moes and a pizza place called the Loop which is pretty good.

The tables are Kim Steeles, most are covered in Greneda (sp?), and they use Aramith balls.

There are twenty 9-footers, eight of which are tournament tables and have Simonis and slightly tighter pockets. Usually all their tables are covered with Greneda.

There are also eighteen 8-footers and one 6x12 snooker table.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. Do you know if the tables have been recovered recently?

Is it Granito, by any chance?

DoomCue,

I Captained an In-House APA 8-Ball Team there, it's also one of my local rooms, play there often...I'll be playing an APA Singles Qualifier there this weekend...anyway Kim Steele and GC's, fast, pretty tight and in good condition...Johnny Archer is the 'House Pro'...check the link...

Looks like a pretty big league house.... I'm thinking about flying down a day early, is there a chance to get a table on a Thursday night?

Oh, and thanks for the wishes - I'll see you there.

Your welcome...and right, I think there are 128 Teams there...and as far as Thursday night, there will be APA 8/9 Ball but thats on the right side of the room on the 8's...let them know your playing in the US Amateur and they should put you in the back on the riser...this is where the Tournament will be played...

Teh tables were redone about 6 months ago with simonis...I am there at least once a week, and will be there tomorrow, so I can double check on the cloth. I'd suggest you get there Thursday night and get a table in the back...the leagues are on the 8 footers, so you should be able to get a table.
