I have purchased what I think to be an original Gold Crown 1 and from what I can tell its from the first year based on the colors that were on it. Somebody had taken the original finsih of white and orange and removed it, put a piss pour mahogany on it and didn't clear it. Any Idea on value anybody. Also who has color codes so I can get it done correctly. Artemis 55 or Superspeed 55 ?

I bought mine in 1994 for $1000. I thought for a long time it was a GCIII. I was told by someone that the GCI were the only model with the skirting attatched to the blinds....not sure on that. When I bought it, all was painted brown. After stripping the brown paint, it was blue underneath. The skirting is still brown....I never stripped the paint, nor have they ever been attatched to the blinds. I am not throwing them away...I just don't like them.

Don't remember on the cushions. I bought some off ebay awhile back, but they were orginal Brunswick...Superspeed 55 I believe.

Is the table heavy? The Gold Crown I's I have seen have been extremely heavy and if the rails are good and the table rolls straight, I wouldn't get rid of it at any cost.

Shick Billiards in Shreveport has vintage GCI tables and they are some of the best I have ever played on.

Thanks Matt. That helps a lot. I do have skirting that is plastic on this table, which I guess installs below the blinds. Anyway I paid 1200.00 for this table and just need to gain as much info on it as possible before I attempt to put it back together. I want to do it original as possible.

Like a ton. It has great rails as far as I can tell. I've been doing a little research online and found that the Gold Crown 1 is only rubbered with k55 Superspeed. Is there a replacement cushion available other than Brunswick that plays as well if not better?

They're good and tight. Luv playing on those tables.

The only thing I don't like about my GCI and I am not sure if it's true on most GC's, but it seems with pockets that all specs are on the outer limits. By that I mean the corner pocket width is 5 1/8" wide and what I hate the most is the shelf depth (how deep the pocket is before the ball falls) is 1 7/8". This makes straight in shots less challenging and rail shots extremely (I think "disgusting" is a better adjective) challenging.
