Using restroom when needed wins games!

I've noticed that if I am in the middle of a match and need to use the restroom, I don't have much patience and want the match to get over with quickly (I'm thinking about needing to use the restroom instead of the match ).

However if I use the restroom when needed during a match, I return to the match with a lot of patience, and then can proceed to have an all out safety battle or whatever. How long the game takes no longer matters. Can take all night for all I care!

I will wait until it is my turn to shoot, or a game during a match has completed, then tell my opponent I need to use the restroom. (Leaving while my opponent is shooting or about to shoot might disrupt their concentration, might say I'm sharking, etc.)

Bathroom

I go p** whenever I have to. If it is an important match, I have a friend of
mine watch the game, and for fouls.

I do have a friend though, a very good player, that if he is down in a money set or tournament set, at some point, he will always take a bathroom break, and it usually last for about 25 minutes. Now you and I know a bathroom break doesn't take that long, even if you wash your hands 3 times, and he is an 11 on a 2-12 9 ball scale, and has played for more than 30 years for thousands of dollars, and many big tournaments, so you know it does not take that long
for him to compose himself while in the bathroom, so several people think it is just a form of sharking his opponent some. It does seem to work most of the time though .... lol

Or Saddam's elephant on CCB.......

Hey, it's Friday afternoon. What do you expect?

It's Ok to take a break, but only when it's your turn to break. And for no more than 15 minutes.

I play this guy, who will in the middle of an inning (his or mine) say I got to go and walk off. The last time he did it, I told him it was the last time he could do it, I'll just pack up my stuff and leave.

I find it very rude to take a break when it's my turn or in the middle of a game, and intolerable in the middle of an inning (even if you have dissintary), if you have that little control of your functions, get dipers!!! :)

My old Mum told me to watch my pees and cues...

Actually in most tournaments I play in, a player may only take a break when it is his turn at the table. I find this to be extremely fair, even if that break ends up being in the middle of a game/inning. The underlying problem with waiting for it to be your break-shot is that in a winner-breaks format, it could easily be a half hour before you get to go. I understand that there are times when you can suggest a player is being inconsiderate but I don't think a single bathroom-break during one's turn is one of them.

In the last tournament I played in I was working on a quasi-three-pack (run out from the 4, break and run and then break and choke on the nine) when my opponent took a break and said to keep shooting because his friend was watching. I'd never run a three-pack in a pressure situation and I choked on the nine right after he got back to the table! I didn't think about it until now that he might have done that to shark me...lol. Needless to say I lost that match because of that shot. :(

See now THAT is different. When YOU are shooting, your opponent should DO NOTHING and SAY NOTHING. However, if you wish to interrupt your own inning by taking a bathroom break, I see nothing wrong with that. I would have told him simply, "No, I would mind if you went to the bathroom. Can you wait until it's your turn?"

In my opinion, the only time for breaks is between racks, not in the middle of one.

When I am playing a match, and my opponent takes a restroom break, it irks me when I have the momentum. However, when this happens, sometimes I will wait until they come back, then I will take a restroom break, and make them wait for me.

Course I will leave my cue on the table too so they cannot hit a ball around and practice.

What comes around, goes around.

Like I said, the problem with waiting between racks is that either you're doing it on your opponent's turn OR you have to wait until you get a chance to break. That simply isn't reasonable and I can assure you, any organized event you play in is going to say the same thing. You get to take a break when it's your turn and your turn only.

Seriously, you can think what you will and you can allow it to bother you but these are the most common rules and ALL OF YOU can do little to change them.
