I shipped a cue on friday.I had some delivery confirmation tags at home so I put one on and when I got to the post office they told me to throw them away,Now they are tracking it using your insurance tag only.I guess if you are not insuring something you cannot track it anymore.
So anyone that has the old green delivery confirmation stickers they are not good anymore and throw them away.

If you insure a package with them and it gets lost or damaged, you will not be able to collect the value you insured it for, without the reciept for the original purchase of the item. No exceptions. If your cue is worth $1200 and you can't prove it, they'll give you $100. even if you insured it for $1200. If you don't realize USPS is a risky carrier, you stand to lose in shipping a cue or case of any value.
 
If you ship it via priority mail, it autonatically comes with a tracking number now. If you then choose to insure it, the insurance label number becomes the tracking number.

I did not know this. Does UPS or Fed Ex allow insurance claims without the original purchase receipt?

No they are not going to let you say your cue is a$1200 cue with no proof. If you are shipping a cue of value show the cue and proof of value . the chances of it being lost are very slim.The U.S.P.S. HAS A PRETTY GOOD TRACK RECORD .
 
USPS is crap. I will never use them for anything again. I had them present me with tracking records to my mailbox for two packages that arrived a day apart. Then they lied about it. They lost or stole the packages. Since it wasn't shipped insured they told me too bad.
