Valley Rails

My rails at the top and bottom of my table seem to come loose monthly. I am afraid to turn any tighter, will a small washer help? Rails can be shifted up and down just a bit, but enough to notice when I shoot.

Threads stretched?

The threads on your rail bolts might be worn out or "stretched" and the valleys between the threads get wider allowing the bolts to work their way loose after repeated hits of the balls. I would suggest replacing the rail bolts on the problem rails and see if the problem continues. You could also use a small flat washer with a lock washer and see if that helps, but you risk stripping out the rail inserts if the threads on the rail bolts are stretched.
