Piedrabuena won 40 - 37 in 29 innings (28 for Mr. Blomdahl).

After being behind 22 - 11, Blomdahl surged to a 27 - 33 lead only to be outscored 13 - 4 the rest of the way. High runs were 6 for the winner and 7 for the loser, both in the 13th inning.
