Back in the day, Camel sponsored pool in a big way. This cue and a few vintage bits of memorabilia are from those memorable times. 1995 was nearly three decades ago. but here are some great memories, Enjoy!

It's a Meucci 95-17 Basically the Meucci version of a Balabushka.

I appreciated the post by the way, Just was looking for that and forgot about the title.
The posters reminded me of the 90's with all the marlboro miles and i think there may have been some pool stuff in that catalog as well.

Times have changed though, no more smoking inside places. I remember when the country was first changing that. I went to disney world and had to smoke in a designated area. Thought it was so strange- i was like im already outside.
I think they had the right idea though. even when i was a smoker it was a mess with indoor smoking.

I was at the Camel Pro Billiards Tour Tournament in Denver back then watching all the old greats doing battle. Back then I watched a match between Nick Varner and David Matlock it was the first time I had ever seen David play. They got into one of the most incredible safety battles ever. Nick took the match and grabbed a Camel Pro tour towel and was wiping down his cue when he over heard me tell my wife I'd like to have one of those tournament towels. Nick grabbed up a fresh one and handed it to me. What a class act! I still have it. Those Camel tournaments drew all the big names of that time. I loved every minute of both days. I don't miss the smoke though. I was a bit much some times!

Between the Marlboro miles and Camel Cash There were a lot billiard items available. Pool cues, Zippo lighters, Balls...

One of my fave Meucci designs. They still offer one kinda like it with the steel joint. Back in the late '70's thru most of the '90's just about every big name player used a Meucci at some time or another. Matlock told me once that if Bob himself made the cue it played as good as anything out there. He knew a lot and was ahead of his time making cues that played great.

That was my first nice cue. I liked the way it looked. I was going to get a Meucci , Joss and Schon and would be done. Didnt they also call that an oldie something?

The original version was the OL-1 If i remember correctly. I have one of those too, It is just an amazing example of how great the Meucci Originals really where.
The internet is kind vague on a lot of the old Meucci cues believe it or not.
I have a couple Meucci cues I have never been able to find on the Duck or the Google. I should post some pics some time and see if anyone knows what they are.
