I finally broke down and installed a firewire card into my old PC.
Quick test using a cheap DV camcorder and ULEAD VideoStudio software.

This was on a Diamond Pro 9'er, a 8 ft'r would get a tighter shot for more detail I think.
Saved this at 15fps wmv, 47 seconds is like 2.3MB.
Not sure what kinda file size 30fps will be.
I thought about setting up in my local room for some league action highlights or blooper reel.
Might make some good "WTF was he thinking" video for everyones amusement
