Viking Cue Customer Service and Warranty

My Viking F50 developed a warp when assembled, while the two shafts and butt end were still straight when rolled alone.

This is SUCH AN IMPORTANT ASPECT of the Viking Cue Company! When I bought this cue, I ordered the F50 Style with my choice of weight (19oz), stain, inlay colors, wrap style, tips, and joint type. This is as much customization as I could have ever afforded! And the cue came with a "Lifetime Warranty".

I called Viking and the registration from when I bought the cue in 2004 was in their computer, and the warranty covered warpage of the cue or shafts. 17 YEARS after my purchase, the company is still there, still making excellent cues, and still keeping their promises to their customers! Thank you Viking.

They resurfaced the joint, and I paid for a tip replacement ( a G2 Medium ) and shaft cleaning. The cue is straight to perfection now, with BOTH shafts, and I am THRILLED with the performance of the G2 tip. I wish I had just gone ahead and had them put one on the other shaft as well, but it wasn't really needed.

The shaft that was cleaned and tipped looks 10 years younger. The ferrule is clean, with all marks and chalk stains removed.

The cue looks PERFECT. It looks like I just bought it new.

The turn around was MUCH faster than they promised and I just couldn't be more pleased with every part of the process.

Somehow, some way, Viking became an very underrated, very under the radar cue manufacturer. They make good stuff. I have a Millennial VM 25.

I had the opposite experience with them. I have my first cue I bought in college in the mid 90's that the finish coat is peeling off. I contacted them and they won't honor my warranty because I don't have my original receipt from 20 years ago....... They wouldn't do anything, basicly told me to go pound sand. Needless to say the cue is sitting in a case in my closet and will probably never see the light of day again. They wouldn't give me a quote to fix it because they said they have to inspect it first, however they said it would be a minimum of $300 plus the cost of new irish linen wrap.

Yes that is unfortunate. When you bought your cue, registering the receipt and warranty online was probably not an option. I was worried as well. I could maybe find my receipt, but because it was registered in their computer they covered my warranty. If for some reason it weren't covered I would have also been disappointed. Still, I got nearly 17 years out of my cue.

I wanted to buy a Viking product. But wanted some extra info first. I asked them 4 times via email, never got a reply.

I am not sure why but when I first contacted them I had the same result, so I called and Shawna their customer service lady was super helpful. Then I thought to look in my email spam folder and boom. There was my reply 1 day after I contacted them. I marked it not spam and all email since has been fine.

That’s great that they fixed it. My experiences with Viking have been great. I was super pissed at one time in the late90’s/early 00’s and broke the shaft in half on my 1980something P-90. It bent my joint also. Viking matched me a shaft, changed the joint, rethreaded the forearm on it in a different color and refinished the cue. All for a reasonable cost. Then a year later they were selling my exact cue as an A-? without the window of course. Must still be selling too because now they sell it as it was made as a B4509. All my best cues are Viking. So I have another Viking. It’s a bit more custom than normal. Like an 11.5mm tip and some other tweaks. You would never know by looking at it though. They only charged an extra $100 MSRP on that one. And finally Ive decided to go all in. They are working out a price with me on a true custom cue right now. Viking can do more custom to your preferred cue than you see on their site. You just need to ask them to…..

You can usually tell them what store or pool hall you bought it from and they should cover your warranty for you. I’m pretty sure it’s on file. One of my buddies has had a few fixed for warpage without the actual receipt. That was probably 10 years ago though.
