Viking cues? joints?

I was thinking of a new Viking cue for myself... but I find myself prefering a well balanced light cue. The Viking I want has a metal quick release joint... and I find that most cues with allot of metal in the joint throws the balance out the window.

I have seen and felt the Predator and the Lucasi quick release Uni-loc joints... My question is: is the Viking "Joint 1" just like the Predator or Lucasi joints?

Here is the Viking web-page on their joints:

I am not sure if this response will fully answer your question, but for what it is worth -

I own a high end Viking with an ivory joint. It is the only cue I have used in the past 7 years (other than my sneaky pete break cue).

It has the same quick release joint but is wrapped with ivory. I have never had the slightest problem with the quality.

As far as a Predator or Lucasi joint, I can only speak for Predator and their quick release break cue - it hits like a monster, and you can play with it too. It is also not likely that the quality of the cues mentioned are the slightest bit subpar, therefore they should all play well. They will feel different, but a good player will adjust.
