hey mike,

it junior. Mike junior. Here are the results from the event at Sporty's Sports Bar and Grille. Previously known as Gametime/Riptide Sports Bar and Grille. We had a low turnout of 35 players.

Here is 1st through 12th
Shannon Daulton
Brian White
Brian Bagwell
Cletus O'Dell
Mike Gulyassy
Mike Staubes
Scott Rabon
TF Whittington
Mike Snyder
Ron Parks
Tony Watson
Anthony Morgan

Shannon and Tony played each other in the first round and Tony came out with the win. Shannon definitly earned his prize money with winning every single match on the one loss side to be the champ. Brian White on the other hand took the easier road and went undefeted untill the finals. The final were a true double elimination and Brian just was hitting them horribly. The first set was 9-8. The second set was also 9-8. They definitly put on a show.

Peace,
mj jr

Low turnout but STRONG field!

When did Jimmy re-name the place?

Timberly,

Matt (Janis) told me in Louisville that Jimmy re-named the place so he could tout it as a "new" sports bar opening in town. You know how Hodges is. Always the business thinker. I had heard that business was really bad, and that they were having trouble turning a profit at Gametime, but that's hearsay. I haven't been there in almost a year.

I was never crazy about the name "Gametime/Riptide". I think I like "Sporty's" even worse.

I wonder why Larry Nevel didn't play? I also figured Stevie might be there since he didn't play the qualifier in Atlanta.

Larry moved back up north. I haven't talked to Stevie so I don't know why he wouldn't drive up for the weekend, unless he was working or already had other plans.

Hey Mike,
As I understand Larry is no longer involed with Reeves Cues, and moved back to the north.
As for Stevie: I spoke with him on Friday night at the Marietta Qualifier. Stevie is just looking for a more secure life style than that of a Poolplayer.
Today he was to learn his first route as a US Mail carrier.
I respect Stevie for his choice!!!

Hey Lamar,

I agree with you that Stevie is making a great decision. But with his talent, I don't know why he would want to give the game up completely. I know that he loves the game dearly. Maybe he just needs to get away from it for a short time, and he will hit a few tournaments later on.
