Anybody recognize this 58" beauty? It has an ivory ferrule shaft with a 5/16x18 Joint pin. Let me know what you think. I appreciate the input and thank you for viewing

Pretty nice looking cue, but since you mentioned Cortland wrap, in my opinion, it isn't. Cortland wrap has very evenly spaced green specs due to to the braiding/construction method, which isn't evident here; they're uneven here and there. Still a nice linen wrap.

Cortland linen

Cortland is certainly best know for the white and green spec linen - however they did make other color combinations like white with black spec.

Vintage Cortland linen is best identified by examining the number of woven strands that are twisted together.

Incidentally, white with black spec Penn linen was also common to see on many vintage cues like this one.

I agree with Paul on this one. The old White with Black spec Cortland looked much nicer than the modern stuff. I have an old Mali that I suspect is wrapped with it and totally sealed. Many don't realize Fred did seal the wrap on some of his earlier cues. He was the only one besides Meucci I saw do it in the early 80s.

Funny you mention Mali, that was actually going to be my guess on this cue...but it would have the green "MALI" on the top of the butt cap, wouldn't it...? Reminds me of the older Mali cues, though...maybe nicer.

I really would not consider them specs (in Cortland). Rather a full thread of color (green in most cases) wound with the white threads.
