I'm not sure I understand, Is there a difference between paralled and nonparallel english in VP3?

No there isn't. That's the point I was making. That there is no difference between parallel and back hand (non-parallel as you called it) english.

It was really a joke, sort of. But here goes, ROFLMAO

In VP3, with the normal controls you can only use parallel english. That is, when you push the key (forget which one it is) to apply english and move your mouse, it moves the entire stick in a parallel manor to a new tip position on the cue ball. How ever if you know all the controls in VP3 you could adjust your head or point of view position to make it look like BHE.

That is the only difference between parallel english and BHE. From what direction your looking at it. With a certain amount of spin being applied there is only one way a shot will go in the center of the pocket. (diagram A) You can look at it (take stance) in different positions (diagram B) , but it all amounts to the same cue stick alignment.

In diagram B - the yellow line is where the stick needs to be to make the shot center pocket with this amount of spin. The red line indicates your alignment or stance or perspective reference if your using parallel english. The black line indicates your alignment or stance or perspective reference if your using BHE. These lines are exaggerated to show the difference but the point is being made. What ever way you want to look at it, the stick has to be in that spot if your going to use a straight stroke. (swooping is a whole different matter)

The advantage of BHE is it allows you to keep close to or the same perspective that you would have if your shooting center ball. If your going to use parallel english you must move your perspective away from that.

bump... come on guys and gals. I had been looking for a way to prove this and finally found it. The physics are programed into the game. There is no difference between parallel and BHE except perception.
