Vollmer Cue (imported from Germany)

I'm considering selling my player for two reasons if I get a fair offer on it. Otherwise I'll likely just keep playing with it as I do like it quite a bit.

1. I'm getting more and more busy...so less time for pool.
2. I keep worrying that someone is going to steal it...and I'd rather lose an inexpensive sneaky than a somewhat pricey hand imported model like this.

I don't have the collector bug so storing it is not an attractive option to me.

The cue was made by the premier German players cuemaker Michael Vollmer. I bought it directly from him brand new almost 1 year ago. Vollmer cues are very similar to Black Boar cues since Michael did some training with Tony. His points are deep-knifed and the butt end of them under the wrap looks like a little rounded boot that helps both distribute weight and meld the forearm into the handle. This cue has excellent weight distribution, very stiff tightly grained shafts, ivory ferrules with fiber pads, Morri tips, and nicely grained wood. The forearm has birdseye in two quadrants and kind of a light quilting in the other two. The grip is textured and tinted leather. This is the brand of cue Thorsten was using for years before he got sponsored.

This cue has his standard ring pattern around the joint and as such, will fit any shaft he makes with that ring pattern. His shafts all interchange perfectly. I don't know if this is common, but I did think it was pretty cool that they all match up with all the butts.

This cue has a very nice crisp hit. I believe it weight 19.2 ounces. The shafts are 12.5mm and 12.45mm at the tips. Shafts are really great and almost perfectly straight. I look at other shafts and note how much tighter the growth in these is.

I also ordered some custom joint protectors from CueCaps and I should receive them any day now.

I paid a lot for this cue but I know the market is a bit soft at the moment. I'm going to be taking a substantial loss on this at my asking price WHICH I AM HAPPY TO STATE so you don't have to send me a PM asking about it. Some people! :)

I'm asking for $1600 including new custom joint protectors and insured shipping within the continental United States. I'll post pics of the caps once I get them. I will not consider dealing with people who are not well respected here and will not ship the cue without either getting payment first or using an escrow service.

The cocobolo points are deep-knifed into ebony points that were put in there first!

these cues play EXTREMELY WELL!

Michael does dead perfect work! If the next owner is a player, he wont sell this one again; thats for sure!

By the way, the price is good!
