Wanted: Custom Cues

The nicest collection of Skip's cues can be found at either one of two websites:

www.cueaddicts.com or
www.classiccues.com

Joe over at classiccues is a personal friend of Skip's and gets some of his nicest cues. Additionally, cueaddicts has a very large selection and examples of Skip's work.

Sorry....but mine is not for sale. The cue hits sooooo well, that I just cannot bring myself to part with it. Or it won't let me part with it....haven't quite figured it out yet. ;-)

Lisa

PS...As far as I know, both will ship internationally. I noticed that you were located in Asia, which is why I mention it.

IMHO, I believe your best bet out of the three cuemakers mentioned, at this point, Are the Skip Westons. They are beginning to hold their value quite nicely, and for the money, you will get more 'bang for your buck' then you will for the other two.
What I mean by this is: from a visual standpoint, his cues are stunning. No picture I have seen to date can even represent what you get when you see his cues in person. The selection of woods he is using is uncompromised. He is building his cues with the utmost structural integrity in mind. He is doing points like no one else in the world...and they are among the sharpest, cleanest, most even points out there. He's a stickler for details, and it shows in his cues. Because of his construction techniques, and his use of strictly hardwood 'veneers', you will not find a glue line or center line in his points....they simply do not exist. The cue feels rock-solid in the hand, has a wonderful balance point, and hits like a cue should hit. He definitely builds a 'players' cue....that is wonderful to look at as well.

At this particular point in time, I personally feel that his is your best investment...IF you are looking for a 'players' cue.

Lisa...who is loving her Skip more and more and more every day!!

Don't forget to do escrow if you're selling a cue. You don't want to get taken by these people. Too much funny money floating around there.

indyq.com carries both bluegrass and capones. So does onthehill.net (one used bluegrass and several Capones). billiardcue.com also carries a few Harris cues.

As Lisa mentioned, Joe Van at classiccues.com has some of Skip's best cues, and Sean at cueaddicts.com is Skip's other major dealer.

I have a Skip on order, be ready in September. Great list of cuemakers btw. I've hit with a Capone and they are one of the most solid cues out there. I am very partial to his stiff taper and shorter ferrules. But, for the money (and if you like the classic look), no one will build you a more fantastic cue than Skip Weston. I plan on getting a Capone plain jane somewhere down the road, but I'd be getting it just for the playability and nothing else.

What would you recommend for a Custom Cue?

What custom cue would you recommend if you have around $2,000 max? I am currently in the market of buying one.

I have in my possesion a brand new Capone that's previously owned by Mika Immonen. The owner had me store it in my humidity and temperature controlled room until somebody purchases it.
