i swapped cues tonight.im pretty sure the tip on my new cue is a lepro.the guy i swapped with gave me a water buffalo tip and said i could replace the lepro with it.i know nothing about water buffalo tips.what should i do?

Depends

Depends on what type of tip you like.

Water Buffalo is very hard. I have it on my jump/break cue.

On my playing cue I use a sniper.

It's your choice though.

Never tried water buffalo, but I'd definitely at least replace that lepro with a triangle. Not that great, but a cheap upgrade. I never liked LePro.

this brings back an old memoriefrom 85 or 86, we all were using LePro tips where I played and then my friend Mike Mitchell got some water buffalo tips they were new to us anyways, so over the next few weeks we all switched, all of us had been playing for about 6months to a year when this happened, there was a group of guyds all about the same age that all started playing at the same time at Tiptons in stockton, some because of the Color of $$ movie or before, anyways Mike put them on he was good at tips from the begginning, i tried once nuff said, the new water buffalo tips were gonna make us all champions so we thought after a few weeks playing they keep getting harder and harder and....we all switched back to LEPro we didnt have moories etc. But we left them on our break cues, Mike had one last for ever once and he has a MONSTER break, harder and better than any pro i have ever seen, so bottom line is put the water buffalo tips on your break cue. hope you liked the story. mike still does my tip work, i send him my shafts. alll these years later I havent found anyone who does better work, he sorts and preps his tips, the bad tips he uses on house cues etc.

RB,

Personally, I'd switch to something a bit softer lol.

A WB tip is a Extra hard tip, mainly used on a Jump/break cue.

you can use them for playing, but if your stroke isnt true, you'll get alot of miscue's.

You, can try out the tip for a day or two just practicing, and see how you like it. If you switch tips, there is a wide variety of tips you have to choose from. I use a Sniper tip and love IT!!! I've use Le-pro, Triangle, Triumph, Moori, Stingray, Tiger Dynamite.

For a solid tip, a GOOD triangle or Triumph tip should work well.

I am using one on my playing cue and I like it a lot. This is the second one I have had on my stick. Before I used Triangle and I like this much better:)
