I just finished watching the match between Steven and Ding.

GREAT MATCH to say the least.

I was very impressed with the way Steven got in gear after the break between sessions.

Ding put up a good fight, especially with the way the first part of the evening session went.

Good to see Hendry still has it in him.

Is it just me or has Ding's game dropped off just a little this season? He seemed like a monster the past 2 seasons.

Ding's game has been off for a few years now. From 2005-2006 he was playing real strong, Ding won the China open and UK championship in 2005 and the North Ireland Trophy in 2006. But when he got destroyed in 2007 at the Masters by Ronnie he lost a lot of confidence.

Ahh! I forgot about that drilling Ronnie gave him.

Yeah, Ding has not been the same since.

I did think it was one of the most sportsman like gestures when Ronnie came over and held Ding's head in his hands and consoled him.

It choked me up a little bit when I saw it.

Hendry had a 147 in the 7th frame against Shaun Murphy this morning.
Until then he was tied with Ronnie for the highest break at 140.
Hendry and O'Sullivan tied at 9 for 147s in competition.

I really hope so.

I am new to Snooker, less than 6 months, and I immediately picked up on Stephen as my favorite as soon as I saw him shoot the first time.

I have gone back on youtube and have seen most of his WC title matches. It makes me so jealous that I was unaware of him in his heyday.

Thanks.

Actually, right before the evening session they showed the whole 147 in its entirety.

I could not believe the first plant went in.
I knew he was going to score a maximum but was still sure he missed the first one.

Then to have to do a second plant, of 3 balls no less, to get to the maximum was amazing.

I don't think Ding will ever be the same. In my opinion he doesn't have the mental toughness to put that loss to Ronnie behind him. I'd say it has a lot to do with all the pressure the Chinese government puts on its athletes and players. Its got to be really discouraging to the players
