Ok, monday nite, i was shooting some pool, and i went was breaking some racks and started to get a weird vibration in my breakin cue.

Well i after winning a game i went to break and i noticed, my Phenolic tip was missing lol. Well after doing a quick search i couldnt find it. So i used my regular stick and broke and then went to the owner who had put the Tip on and told him about it, well he found the tip next to another table, and was about as dumb founded as i was. cuz he said normally if a tip comes off its after the first couple hits.

Well anyways, he is putting on a new Phenolic tip/ferrule. But today i bought a Action jump/break cue, thats a 18oz and wow its super light lol.

since my viking break cue is a 21oz lol

But i am just wonder if having a 18oz break cue is too light. But it does hit nice, but i feel that i am losing a bit of power on the break.

I but also, this is a just in case cue, if the tip of one my other cues happens to fall off while playing. But for 70$ it hits very nice.

Some folks choose to use a lighter break cue as they claim it yeilds faster hand speed due to the lighter resistance, thus harder breaks.

I dunno- I break & play with the same cue...

My break cue is about 17oz, maybe less. Definitely a faster break. But I get more 9's on the break with my playing cue, it's just that bad ass. Depends on the mood I am in and the game I am playing as to which one I will use.

Try a break cue with the same weight as your playing cue but with a stiffer taper profile and the balance point moved down by 1 1/2 inches towards the butt end. That is, if your play cue has a balance point of 18" then your break cue should be 16 1/2 inches from the butt end.
