Weird Butt Pad... Don't laugh.

Has anyone ever come across a maker that used leather pads at the ends of their cues instead of rubber bumpers?

I do, but mostly not like that. Mine are more like bumpers. They work well.

That style bumper makes more sense to me, I just never seen a maker put a pad over the entire bottom of the cue sealing it off that the one in the photo.

Old style, pretty common on snooker cues.
