last night, instead of pulling out the Jacoby Cue i decided to play with the Lucasi/Predator combo. and for whatever the reason, i played very poorly. it may have just been one of those nights. Or it could have been the oral surgery i had earlier in the day, or the fact that my dad has just undergone open heart surgery and is still in critical condition, or the speeding ticket i got when i was driving him up to the Indy hospital sunday, who knows.

but i noticed this Lucasi/Predator combo sure played differently. i was missing shots, missing position, it just felt different. and no, i didnt throw it, or any balls either.

any of you other posters ever experience something like this when you go back to the Predator? or was it just my lack of ability shining through?

What the hell do you think I've been talking about and referring to over the last couple of years. Welcome to the club and regaining your sanity.

(Really sorry to hear about your pops and all the other stuff, that can't help much of anything)

I think there is an adjustment period any time one switches cues, especially with a predator shaft.

But, IMO your bad play probably has more to do with the things going on away from pool. Sorry to about your dad, hope he gets well soon.

Personally I love the Predator shaft. To each his on though...I don't know how you play...but it sounds like your mind was on other things than playing good pool.

Cues are about 'Feel' and shafts are about, KNOWING HOW TO CONTROL WHAT YOU HAVE. Predator shafts are good when you get used to them, so are every other Darn shaft out there. I got sucked into buying a predator shaft and i love it. I also loved the shaft i played with before, and the shaft before that. Spend a year with any shaft and then change to something that is different and you won't shoot as well. Same with GOLF. Change from a light shaft to a heavy shaft and your swing changes, groove your swing to either shaft and your fine.
