Hi Roger.
I haven't played for two years but might be able to help.
Firstly, Wolverhampton isn't exactly a hot bed of American pool. Rileys closed a few years back, only for it to reopen as The Centre Spot under new ownership. However, that has closed too. I know to only two other bars with 9x4.5 tables. First is Womborne Pool Bar. It has 6 well looked after Sam tables and is quiet between 11am until 4pm. The other is JDs snooker club in Willenhall. It has 2 Riley American pool tables, but they aren't great.
If you're happy to travel an hour down the M6 then I'd recommend that you head to Rileys Solihull on a Wednesday night. They have weekly nine-ball comps (£10 entry double-elim). The standard varies, there are some good players while some are average at best. Here you will meet guys who may be willing to meet for a game. Andy and Daryl run these comps and they also co-run Solihull 9 Ball. Top blokes. I started S9B with them back in 2019 but my priorities have changed since.
