if everyone remembers a few months back I announced that I was working on getting a Amateur 9-ball tour going in Western Canada. Well the time has come to start booking poolrooms to hold the events. The cities i am looking to hold events in include: Vancouver, Suburbs of Vancouver: ie, Surrey, Delta, Coquitlam, Burnaby, etc, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon (Im relying on an Edmonton Player to run this, or if someone in Saskatoon can do it let me know), Reddear (sp?), and possibly Medicine Hat.
I have been talking to a player in Edmonton and it seems we have a room that is dedicated to hosting 2 events.
I am just looking to find out which poolrooms are big enough to host events, and are willing to put up some added monies.
I know a few rooms in Vancouver that i plan on approaching, Commadore Billiards, and Guys and Dolls. If you can think of other rooms in Vancouver that may be interested let me know.
As far as the outlying area's in Vancouver, I am in the dark. Same with Calgary, and Medicine Hat.
I am going to be staying in Reddear from September 2nd to September 5th, and i will be looking to visit rooms in this area. I am not sure how far away Medicine Hat is, but i am assuming i will not be able to visit there as I've already got 3 cities to book events in.
Does anyone think that i could get enough support on Vancouver Island to host a tournament there?
Also along with poolrooms i am also looking for hotels and motels near the poolroom that can be contacted for discounted lodging.
Anyone that can give me a hand it will be greatly appreciated. I can't know every room owner and every poolplayer in every city, so i need your support.
