If you're a table mech then you know what I am talking about. 8 years ago when this billiards thing took hold of me and hasn't loosened it's grip.(yeah right, ROFLMAO :rotflmao1
I though a table was a table.
Well now I am here talking on this forum more then playing on my table (like 20 fold, no lie!) I am from WI and Olhausen's are the main table round these parts...only because our biggest reseller sells them. So over the years I have played on many of them including my own...and yes they all suffered from the same pocket rattle issues. Now I have discussed this until I was blue in the face and along with my above average mechanical apaptitude I realize the physics as to why this happens...and NO it's not shelf depth...I know this because the shelf on Olhausens are less (is this right; not as deep?). I read a post in the main section about pocket/anglerubber/facing talk. There was a guy who had AZ's own RKC worked his magic and made his Olhausen play better then stock.
Well before I was 100% in knowing these rattle issues were a Olhausen issue I paid LCCS to extend my subrails....this has proven to be a big mistake (not you Ron). Now I have turned this "Olhausen rattle" into the "Olhausen death rattle" I dread stroke shots and often find myself giving myself the missed shot that rattled since I know most tables that shot would have fell.
So what's a man to do? can I fix this without replacing the rubber...again. Is it possible to change the angle and the facing material at this point?
All answered would be appreciated!
