Tue Infamous Push Shot
What happened was I played a great tournament it came down to piggy banks and I in the finals of the bank, the score was tied at twenty-two in a race to 23 and I pocketed the straight-back long railer for the win. In the One-Pocket I played Ike and there was a close push shot, the ref. said it was a push which by todays rules is, I know under tournament rules the shot I shot is a foul. However there are many different inerpretations of this rule, yall may call me crazy but I feel by elevating the cue it takes away from your shot selection, this rule to me is like playing honest effort 8-ball. But the rules of today are basicly as follows [ when to balls are frozen you may shoot through the balls,if they are not then the cue ball must not pass the point of where the object ball is.] When playing a long set I like to clear this rule up before we start, I play this rule where the cue ball has to show a little character and you can get away with alot playing me, the reason again is yes they may just slam through the balls but it does open up more shots. We need to simplify the game as much as possible so the people at home may understand it better. I had a great time and won a little $ too, the call that the room owner made was a correct one so I am not upset in any way about that, I did learn a position shot from Glen Rogers 'Piggy Banks', it was a nice to be competing again and Ike Runnelds got me in the finals of the One-Hole fair and square he is a great player also. Both of these tournaments were more exciting than any nine ball event I have ever played in, keep pushin through but show character in your stroke is my best advice.
