Because of a recent back injury I can
no longer get as low on the cue stick as I
am used to. Now I have to stand more upright
such that my chin is about 5" above my cue
whereas before my chin was right on the cue.
So my question is this.
When I keep the cue as level with the table as
possible my accuracy falls off dramatically. I know
I can overcome this with practice. If I raise the cue a
couple of inches (and slightly change my body
position) I can attain three points of contact with
the cue and accuracy returns.
So is it worth the steps backwards for a cue that
is 3" closer to the table? I have watched plenty of pros
so I know what they do. What do you as a player and/or
instructor think?
Thanks
