Since jake brought this up in reference to tomcincy, I will take a bite.

This is not just about whether you look at the object ball last or the cueball last but the movement of a person's eyes during the preshot and the shot.

In my preshot, I look at the cb on the forward stroke and at the ob on the back stroke. Right before the final stroke or hit, when eyes are paused at the cb, I then lock my eyes on the ob, follow through and freeze.

What about the rest of you or are you just a natural who is not sure how you play so well?

Hi Laura,

For me it really varies depending on what type of shot I am hitting. When I am working on the Alignment drill:
START(
%AZ2O1%Pq7Z1%UD9D8%Vp9Y8

)END

...Or any long shot, I will always focus on the object ball last while I stroke. I notice that my pot percentage goes way up when I focus on the OB while stroking for longer shots.

For some shorter shots or shots that require english, I will focus on the cue ball to make sure I strike it at the right spot because the target pocket isn't a difficult pot.

Know what I mean?

It depends on the shot. If I'm drawing the length
of the table I look last at the cueball. On most
shots though I look at the object ball last. I don't
go back and forth much between cue and object ball.
