I use green master chalk. I have used other chalks such as blue master, blue silver cup, green silver cup but I have found that with the green master chalk my shaft stays a lot cleaner. I am not sure if there is a difference in the chemical makeup because of the color dye they have to put in it or what but from my experience I do not have the shaft discoloration that I used to have with blue chalk especially.

I am just curious to see what you all use and think abou it.

Thanks

I use blue for no particular reason other than it is kind of traditional. If I would switch to anything it would probably be tan to keep my shafts a little cleaner looking.

Green Simonis=green chalk........

I use blue master as well. Besides the nostalgia factor i have blue felt so it doesn't show up too much on it. Something about blue just feels familar, i don't know if i'd be comfortable using any other color :)

I use the Balabushka chalk, a little messy. but it's a Robin Egg Blue. I like the way it holds on hard tips and that's what I use.

Blue Master. I find it doesn't mark up the cloth as much. (Green Simonis). I've tried green Master, but it's such a light green that it actually shows up on the green cloth more than the blue Master. Go figure. Maybe they make a dark green Masters that I'm not aware of? If they did, I'd probably try that.;)

I use the Blue master just cause it was always around. I did try some Green and it seemed a little softer.:)

I gave you Rep points, cause I think the Brunette in your Avatar is very Pretty.:D

Master Blue

I use blue Masters chalk. I think it's the best out there and if you check the cue cases of the pros, I think it is by far the most common chalk you will find in those cases. (In case you wonder where I got this idea, it's from reading a lot of those "What's in your case" articles in a mag. the name of which escapes me at the moment.):)

I often wonder why the don't make a dark green myself. Seems like a natural to me.

I use tan/camel Masters at home because I have a camel-clothed table.

Elsewhere, I carry the Blue Diamond Chalk (from Longoni). Probably just a marketing ploy, but I was impressed enough to buy into it.

Master Blue - Simply because it is default, and easy to get. I have tried Silver Cup, but for some reason I feel that Master stays on the best. If memory serves me correct, aren't Master and Silver Cup somewhat the same company?

I'd prefer to use Purple (which for me, for some odd reason or another, keeps it clean as well), but it hard to come by locally, and also I don't think they have it available from Master.

I use tan master to keep my cues and TIPS looking fresh. You don't have to cake it on either, so those of you complaining about it messing up the table... don't use so much and blow the excess off, it puts hardly any on the table and I don't even notice it most of the time. I tried black silver cup a while back, and that lasted about 2 racks before I switched back. It's a different type of chalk and needs more on to get the same performance... therefore it dirties the table horribly.
