Hello all, I am having trouble deciding what shaft to go with my cue.

I am a beginner to intermediate player, I have always used a standard maple shaft. I switched to the Mcdermott I-2 low deflection shaft and I don't like it so much.. I don't use english on too many of my shots so I am thinking a low deflection shaft was not the right move. Whats the most accurate shaft for a player who uses minimal english on his shots? Any help would be appreciated Thanks!

You're gonna get lots of different answers here.....

Bottom line, it's what YOU feel most comfortable with.

I know the feeling about there may be a better mouse trap out there an I want it. I play mostly with a schon daily with 13mm. stock shaft. I am fortunate enough to be able to pay with any low deflection shaft out there. I always come back to the standard schon shaft. :)

You need to hit with many shafts, decide what works for you and then stick with it.

Good luck!!!

There is no right answer ANYONE can give you. I've personally tried almost all of em'. I prefer a standard maple shaft, 1/2" ferrule, KMB tip with at 12.8mm pro taper..

YMMV

Can't argue with you there. Hard to beat the hit of a Schon shaft. However, it deflects way more than I can take. That is unless you have it shaved down to 12.5mm or so, in which case it is somewhat bearable.

I also recommend a low deflection shaft with a milkdud tip on it. Kinda restores the original hit to a certain degree...
