What To Practice?

was wondering what kind of practice routines you shooters out there use? seems like no matter what shots i practice when i break a rack i end up with shots i have rarely, if ever, practiced. i guess natural ability has to come in to play here, i dunno.

but i was wondering if any of you top level players out there might send along a practice routine you feel has worked really well for your game? i can play pretty good at times, if the break is working and i get decent spreads i can run some racks. however, other days it might look like i have never played before.

thanks for any help.

Not a top level player, but I have some thoughts on this.

Lots of books show lots of good drills. I won't regurgitate them here.

I find that practicing with a person of similar or slightly better skill, who takes the game seriously, helps alot. But, when you play, play hard. Try safeties. Try tough shots. And talk about the shots and the games with your practice partner. Bounce ideas off each other, and try shots you normally avoid. Take every shot as seriously as if you were in a tournament or money match. Easier said than done! :) If necessary, play for some small stakes to keep it competitive.

Practice

Practice your weeknesses, not your strengths. They show up everytime you go out and play. They are evident. Go for it man.
