I´ve played with moori tips for the past 15 years and always thought these where the best tips available, but recently changed the tip of my playing shaft and I'm completely disappointed, didn't hold chalk well and notice it because on long high english shots it felt like I got a bad hit but not enough to miscue... and on bank shots I notice the ball deflected a lot which is not normal, at first thought It was me not the tip… but then constantly I got the same feeling, so I decided to move to my other shaft that has a five layer tip and the feeling was completely different, no strange noise when hitting with lots of english, it is a shame but seems that mass production has affected the quality…
So my conclusion is that to many layers on a tip can cause to get bad hits consistently due to the glue within each layer, so I’m moving to 4 to 5 layer tips…

I guess more layers is more glue and glue is hard. Just guessing.

So I changed the moori tip, I once purchased some 5th avenue tips and tried one, well really to my surprise it is a very good tip I do not bother much if it mushrooms... any tip has to be trimmed after some use...
Try it is certainly a good tip I played yesterday a tournament (I’m from Colombia but currently live in Mexico), and the level is high (for amateur level) all players play above 0.600 average, start my first two matches and I really felt control on bank shots and on high english shots, control that I did not have with the expensive moori tip. Although I did not win the tournament (but a decent total average 0.750) I felt happy to hit with confidence!!
These tips sell for 1.5 to 1.7 dollars each the duration is decent and obviously at a low price.
Thanks to those who reply!!!
