What's the going rate for a used Cuesmith Deluxe?

I'm beginning to sell all of my stuff (not just pool stuff) for a future move and have come to the conclusion that I have way more important stuff to work on then cues so I'll be listing my lathe fairly soon. I've been thinking about it for a while so I've kept my eye out but they don't come up very often. I've seen some that I thought were overpriced (over $3K) but I haven't seen any actual numbers when one is sold.

Thanks in advance.

I sold my last one for $3200 with some extra tooling, a router, and a box of excess wood I had laying around. This was a SHIPPED price. I built a crate for the lathe and had UPS come get it.

It depends on age and condition. Older Deluxe Cue Smiths in decent shape usually bring about 1/2 to 2/3 current new price. Newer ones with lead screw power feed in good shape usually bring 2/3 to 3/4 new price. Those prices are for complete units with everything a new one comes with. Most have some extras with them that may raise the price some. But many buy incomplete lathes and find out they have to spend hundreds of dollars to get it up to the package level they thought they were buying. My advice if selling or buying one is take or ask for pictures of every item that sells with it so neither side gets any surprises. The above are just averages. With a few months long lead time on Cue Building Deluxe Packages I have seen people who did not want to wait pay over full retail for really good condition used Deluxe Lathes because they wanted one immediately. I really advise against shipping when selling a used lathe as it is almost an art to pack one to make it through normal carriers handling without any damage.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I did see you have one posted for someone and that gives me a good idea on price. As far as shipping goes, I don't want to ship it, but I will. I'm not worried about the packaging, I used to ship $20k+ electrical control panels - on a flat bed - to Canada, if I ship it, it would arrive safely.
