Wheelchair Pool at Planet

Talk about being pissed - why did no one post that there were going to be Pros at Planet on Friday?

This morning I read the Home Page here and find out Earl and Sarah were there wowing the crowds on Friday. And Ewa and Sarah too.

I would have loved to take that nice little ride down to Tampa to see Earl trying to play pool in a wheelchair. It had to be better than his poor showing at last year's open against Alex. And it would have been a good opportunity to show my wife what I am doing all the time. Then again, if she met Ewa and Sarah, it might make her worry more. LOL.

Where was Doug when I needed him. And why doesn't ken Miller get on here and publicize his event? There's nothing wrong with his mind or fingers.

I knew about the wheelchair tournament on Saturday, which I couldn't make because of my own little APA money cup tournament that our team was in, and won handily, thank you APA, but I didn't know anything about Friday.

Or was it posted somewhere and I just missed it?

But that is one of the big problems with pool - no one takes the time to write about it and send it to the newspapers. Or call them up so that they can cover the story. Or call the local radio station and let them know about it.

LOL .... It was posted here, playpool.com, RSB and ASP. You missed it. I even put a post here yesterday morning stating the lineup and times (oddly, I don't see that post anywhere here, so I guess that it was removed).
After Friday night's 'Challenge The Pros' with Archer and Ellerby, Johnny sat in a wheelchair to play some games. That gave me a great idea and I took it to Bob Calderone (President of the NWPA). It was for Earl & Johnny to shoot in chairs along with their wheelchair Scotch Doubles partners. However, it was thought (correctly) that would take TOO long to play the match and too much would have to be edited out (they only have 44 min. of pool airtime in the 60 min. slot). I then suggested that Earl & Johnny play at least one game in wheelchairs before the match and if time allowed, it could be broadcast. Bob Calderone thought this was a good idea and told him that he could use it. When Johnny and Earl sat down in the wheelchairs to play their one game, I leaned over to room owner Ken Miller and said, "that was MY idea". Ken said, "yeah, right." I said,"no,it really was." He says,"at the this mornings pre-production meeting,6 people took credit for coming up with that." But now, Jake knows the real story. Earl (like John McEnroe) likes to get sparked up by finding someone in the crowd to take issue with and I'm happy to report that I obliged him (LOL). All four players were 'miked' and I can't wait to see the edited version when ESPN airs this match in Dec.

Hey, that is one hot number you have there Harry.

Too bad you had some broad standing in front of it.

Jake

Oh, Is that Sarah?

Please forgive me for my gaff.

LOL (That does not stand for loads of love)

Doug, this is strike two for you. You were no where to be found at the Patriot Cup either.

And if you posted the lineup yesterday (Saturday) how would that have helped me to know what had happened on Friday?

Jake

Out of the loop, without a clue, with no hope in sight.
