IIRC, 13 years of age. same time I began shooting pool. learned it from my oldman and his friends. I just played by mere amusement and despite that, I would say that I win most often than not by shear luck.
I was never taught about card strategies such as bluffs, card counting and reading, reading your opponents facial expression, cheating signals, cooperative play, and others. I learned by simply observing.
never knew a few years after that, I would be beating them at their own game convincingly, not just by pure luck but strategy. I would say that I'm lucky and rather to be like that than just purely cunning.
