When will you do with Pool stuff before you die?

Coming up on 58 in January (although I look much much younger ...lol),
and having to fight an obsessive Pool buying disorder most of the time,
I get to thinking about whether it is worth it to get exactly what I want
in Pool stuff, or to be reasonable in my wants since I am on the
'downturn' of my playing days.

What will you do with all of your cues, cases, and other Pool stuff
before or after you die.

Will you pass it on to members of your family?
Will you sell it to a friend or other Pool Player?
Will you have it buried with you? (perhaps you're favorite cue)
Will you pay for your burial expenses from the items sold?
Will you have it 'raffled' off in a Memorial tournament held for you
after you pass on.
Will you have it 'Auctioned' off in person or on Ebay?

Have you thought about it? What are your plans?

It is all going up in Smoke with me in a Big Fire, ashes will be Spread in the Madison River in Yellowstone Park, at the First Bridge from the West Enterence......

A friend of mine used to have a HUGE cue collection. He identified in his will which cue should go to each of his friends (they were all numbered and cataloged …the cues not the friends). He earmarked a Balabushka for me. Well eventually he sold off his collection …so someone out there has my Balabushka!! (just kidding) Thankful he is still going strong himself long after his cues were sold off. :)

I plan to be cremated so I'll give my cue to my significant other, if I have one. Otherwise, it will probably go to my birthdaughter, who will also get my violin, as she knows I play.

(I have both a will and living will, which I update annually.)

Well, im FAR from passing, but when i do get older and amass a few cues, i'll prob pass it out to love ones. Probably one for my child (if i have one), and hope that he/she picks up his/her father's sport, one for my future wife, maybe for my friends that actually take pool seriously. Of course, i would also love to have one go with me. Either buried or creamated.

Of course, im still young and have my youth. Id like to think that i wont pass anytime soon.

Bruce... make damn sure there's nothing toxic in the ashes from the finish that will screw up my flyfishing there!!! :( That's a pretty good fishin' spot, ya know!

BTW, I'll probably give all of my pool stuff to my kids. They all love the game. But my flyfishing stuff... now that's a different story. My favorite rod gets buried with me, and I'll be wearing a Columbia Shirt and my Goretex waders.

Later,
Bob

Long story, but I'm the birthmother of a five-year-old girl. Very open adoption to a couple who couldn't have kids... we talk, write letters, visit.

I will probably seal my cues in a glass display case so people from all over the world can come and see them.

Wow, you must have some collection if people would come from all over the world!

I'm not sure what I'd do with mine. I've told my friends that if I were to pass they could have my cues and split them up among themselves, but I don't have a will or anything.

Cool

Okay, did not mean to pry. Sounds like it turned out great. Did you ever decide on that wrap? Jim Murnak tried to pm me about one of his cases.

Do you have to update your living will every year in GA? That seems a little extreme. I can understand the wills issues if you have those kinds of changes- if you are using an estate lawyer that must make him/her happy.

Unless you specify your requests in a will, the state usually decides what happens to your estate.

Not a problem. I'm very open about it but it is a long story, and way too long to type.

After seeing Addicted's computer generated drawing, I decided the all black linen wrap is what I like. :)

I have no kids & no one in my family plays pool. For the time being, it is well known amongst my friends and family that I am to be buried with a baseball hat, levi's, sneakers, & my cue. ;)
