Driving though and wanted to stop here for dinner and maybe relax with couple of hours of pool. Not really looking to spend a lot of time here, but looking for a good place with decent 9 ft tables. Any suggestion?

I see my list are Golden Cue, Billiard Palace, Anodyne Pool Hall, Doc & Eddy's, Slate Street Billiards and so forth.

Any suggestion or insight will be appreciated.

Thanks:smile:

Hi Sunny,

Whenever I'm in town I try to stop in at Doc N' Eddy's on the east side of the I-25. I think you'd like it.

If I remember right, the Billiard Palace had only 8' tables.

The tables at Doc & Eddie's kinda suck. It is convenient though, right off of I-25. I'd go to Billiard Palace (they do have 9's and Anna Kostanian's Dad owns it I believe) or Slate Street in Rio Rancho (a little out of the way). If you go to billiard palace, I've found the tables on the lower section in the back are better, but that's just me.

Thanks, guys. But, we just ended up wondering around... My hubby thought that Slate Street was that pool room once Ramona Biddle had owned. He gushed about how it was really fancy and was like a million dollar pool room but wasn't sure what it was called. We took a wild stab at it and let our GPS take us there, but to our disappointment, it wasn't it.

So after asking some locals, we heard there was this fancy joint in downtown Albuquerque called "One UP Bar" and we took ourselves there. Only to find it was closed on Sundays... Ugh!!!

Since, we weren't really vacationing here and passing through, we didn't really spent much energy looking for a pool room...

Well for future reference, or anyone else who stumbles on this thread later, I'll put my recommendation up for Billiard Palace. Too many tables to count, but I got on a 9 foot Diamond that was well maintained.

I vote again for the Billiard Palace. After being here in CA where action, leagues and tournaments are dead compared to my previous home towns, it was refreshing to walk in there on a Tuesday night and find 100+ people with their own cues, woofing, gambling, playing leagues, trying to get a tournament going etc...

Really a breath of fresh air.
