Hey, that rhymes! ;) I just moved down to Los Angeles, and I'm looking for somewhere to play. Preferably, I'd like to play in a league of some sort. Straight pool, 8-ball, 9-ball, it really doesn't matter. The catch: I'm just south of Hollywood (Mid-City West/Miracle Mile area), and I don't want to travel into the valley to play. Any suggestions???

There's Hollywood Billiards on Hollywood Blvd.:

And there's House of Billiards in Santa Monica at 19th and Wilshire.

Hollywood Billiards is very nice, but a little on the expensive side, especially in the evening. Not sure about leagues.

House of Billiards is where I practice/play mostly, with decent rates. I think they have an 8-ball league as well. If you want to play some cheap 9-ball, let me know.

thats about 5 miles from my house, I play at Hollywood Billiards, is a good room, I have great friends there.

I was at Hollywood Billiards last night !! Someone else .....who shall remain nameless........didn't show up!!!!!

Just kiddin' .......you know who !!!!!!

I know Hollywood Billiards use to have a monthly "regulars" rate, kind of like a health club, you paid, maybe $80 a month and could play unlimited pool till 8pm... I don't know if they still have that. I also recall they had a weekly nine ball tourney...that was handicapped.

Hard Times in Bellflower is only 20 minutes by (non-rush hour) freeway: 110 south 10 mi, 91 east 7 mi, Bellflower Blvd. south 2 blocks.

Best pool room in the LA area for quality players (including many pros). Of course, it may cost you more in gas than you save in table rates.

I was surprised when I played there last Mon nite, a buddy and I played for 4.5 hours and the bill was only $46.00 I figured it would be about $80 or so. Not too bad, plus I won $20 and we split table time. Nice place to play.

They used to have a Sat. USPPA 9 ball tourney there, but it is now at Plush Pocket in Northridge.
