where to play near winnetka / glenvue chicago

Hi,

I am a B player in chicago on business. Where would be a good, serious room near winnetka/glenvue where I could watch A players and maybe pick up a friendly, non-money game? Chris' and red shoes seems a bit far. Is there anything in this area? I hate "social", "ball-banger" rooms. I am wiling to drive to Chris' if it's the only real pool room around.

Any weekly tournaments? Anyone want to meet up to play a bit (not for gambling!).

There's a place where some of the players are serious, although it's not a pool room. It's a cigar shop, Cigar King, located in Skokie. It has a 9 foot Brunswick with fast cloth that was recently replaced. Pool is free, but the owners want those who play there to buy a cigar or two, or cigarettes, etc.

Some of those who play there are pretty good, although I don't know exactly where they would fit on the A-B-C-D scale. Some of us also play in the 9 ball and 8 ball tournaments at Chris's each week.

A place called Pressure isn't too far from Winnetka. It's in Chicago on Clark St. one block south of Devon - that's probably 6 or 7 miles south of Winnetka. Good tables (newish Brunswicks), espresso(!), but not many serious players.
