Which jump/break cue?

I mostly play 1P but have started playing some 8/9/10 ball again and I'm looking for a cheap J/B cue. I'm looking at J. Flowers BJ2 at $420, Konllen JB at $300, and Crical Little Monster at $200. I'd like to hear your opinions. Thanks

Years ago, before I decided to move to a dedicated jumper, I had a McDermott stinger that I found to be a great cue for the money.

As with any J/B, you're going to give up some jumping capability because of the extra weight in the butt, but if you don't feel the need for a dedicated jumper, something like the stinger is a great alternative that won't break the bank and saves a little bit of room in the case.

Having had a few J/B cues in the past, if you have room in the case I would highly recommend dedicated break and jump cues. I find a proper jump cue so much easier to use myself, but I also use a lot of dart stroke technique and have Jacoby jumper which is particularly suited to that having a tapered grip section for it.

My favorite J/B was a Gilbert and they weren't priced terrible but don't seem easy to come by these days.

I was all set to get a Pure X 4 piece j/b after I got to test a borrowed one a little. Those got high praise on threads here and in other reviews I saw. When I tested it, the break seemed very good either full length or with the short configuration. It didn’t seem to give me any special speed advantage per the results on the Predator app. But it broke them well. It seemed to jump really well. I liked the convenience aspect and it seemed to work well enough for me.

However, before I ordered I got to test the Propel jump cue a local place got in. I had hit only a couple shots with one before. I went home with a Propel. I will either stay with my current break cue or upgrade to a breach later.

When I looked recently I was intrigued by the Peri j/b at Seyberts. They are out of stock now per the website and I never have seen one in person or tried one. It has a short length for breaking. Might be good. Not expensive. But I liked the fact on the Pure X you had either regular length or shorter as an option. And I got to try one. But trying the Propel ended my j/b search.

"Expensive" is relative...

Propel is the best thing I've ever tried. As close to cheating as I've ever come.

Honestly you don't want a J/B combo. They jump like ass. Get a cheap jump cue Bunjee jump cues are like $75-90 and do a great job. Just get a dedicated break stick. No point in it being J/B because they are always too heavy for good jumping.

I second this opinion

I've said this for years. They either jump good and break like shit or vice versa. I now have seperate break and jump sticks

I have a Samsara JB and it breaks great and jumps okay. Recently I bought a Cuetec Propel jump cue and it is so easy!
As a test I bought a Little Monster break cue and tried the shaft on the Samsara. The wood Samsara shaft (as well as the whole cue) breaks better than the Little Monster. Tips probably play big role.
