Hello Mechanics!
Thread 1 of 2......
I have attached some pics of 2 home tables. Due to only 5 pics allowed, I will make 2 threads, hopefully back to back, in order to get pics posted of both frames.
Well actually just pics of the frames of each.
Here is what I'm asking. From looking at the pics of these 2 frames (2 threads as mentioned) I would like to know if these were your only 2 choices, which would you choose to keep. I know most will say, and I agree that its hard to look at a few pics and tell which may be of better quality.
The free standing table's frame (these pics in this thread) has an attached slate backing on each slate piece, as to where the table (in Thread 2) that's assembled does not. It has a separate backing piece. I know this in itself is a factor.
Now, I know most on this site feel that if its not a Gold Crown or a Diamond then put it in the bonfire this weekend. My dream table is a Diamond. My dream can't happen for a good while.
For those that will, please just give me your expert opinion on these 2 choices.
I look forward to seeing some replies.
You can respond to either thread of course. But please do respond.
Thanks in advance.......

Table

I like this frame over the other, a few stiffeners and gussets to the frame and slate sill then it will be much more sturdy.

How to the legs or pedestals attach to the frame..?

Bolts go straight down thru the frame into the legs. Ball and Claw legs.
Bolts are probably 6-8" long and 1/2 - 3/4" wide.

Definitely this table, over the other.. This frame is much better designed, and looks to be much better supported. Also, the sill does not overhang the frame as much on this table, which will make it much easier to shim the slates.

The other frame looks like it utilizes a lot of plywood and press board. This looks like a much better frame.
