Having Schmelke build me sort of an experimental cue to test out some design parameters that I think might work well together. At the core of the cue design, it is a full reverse splice maple into Indian Rosewood, Rosewood in the top.
They sent me a couple pics of 5 choices of wood. Same pieces of wood just turned half turn. I already asked Kim Walker and Martin Bick and they were very gracious to provide some feedback on which forearm to choose and some ideas on better ways to evaluate them before such as having them put a little sealer on them to see what they will look like finished and to ask them to tone tap them, but just thought it would be educational to see what other cue makers and knowledgeable people would choose from the options.
Would appreciate any input.
