ive got an old cue thats being restored. the white material that people use comes in many shades of white. this stuff is old 30+ years. ive seen it on old Joss cues, Szambotis, and i believe Blacks

the material is at the joint collar and is used for rings and stiching. its not ivory.it IS translucent and appears to be some kind of plastic. the big problem is that to buy several bars of plastic it will cost a small fortune. Id like to restore this cue and an old Joss thats got the same stuff in it.

any ideas of what was used in them old cues ?

Don't think it would be delrin. Delrin doesn't take a finish, correct? So it wouldn't be used for joints/rings in that case.
