White P3 Vs. Quiet Roller 2 Review

Alright people, I said I would do a review and guess what? I'm gonna do it now. So I decided to do an experiment with variations of how I was to using the butts and the Predator shafts. This is about performance only and not about the quality etc.

White P3 + Z² = I became a sniper the moment I put the chalk on. Long range balls went to where I wanted them to go. I didn't need heavy planning of where the cue ball was to go, it just stopped at some random place and you just fired again and the balls would go where they are suppose to. Large cut/angles required.

White P3 + 314² = Not bad, had trouble with long range shots. I had to do smaller cuts/angles to go where I needed to compared to the Z².

Additional notes: Easy to detach shaft from butt. Uses air suction? and uni-loc screw in to put together tight at the joint. Butt is somewhat noticibly larger in width but with deeper/larger angle/cuts on the target ball, it should still be in your favor IF you are using a Z².

------------------------------------------------------------------

Quiet Roller 2 + Z² = Similar results to the White P3 with Z² shaft. I recalled a more "wood" feeling/sound.... after a hit. Excellent setup.

Quiet Roller 2 + 314² = Good but not even close to being as good as above. Required deep cuts to put balls in desired pockets. Plays very much like my Scorpion cue without the stiffness. Long range I had to do small cuts. Unforgiving than a Z² shaft in terms of accuracy at long range.

Additional notes: Very nice design and feel of the butt. I would only recommend a Z² shaft with the Quiet Roller 2. One must try them both out if possible.

Overall, 314² on any of the above cues had a moderate effect in accuracy. If you ever decide to play with a Z², please practice first as the 314² is more suited to those that play other cues of average tip diameter. 314² is.......... just not as good as a Z². Didn't matter which one I put it on, 314² just wasn't as close a Z². Cuts required precision and the slightest angle off will make you miss.

If you decide to put on a Z² on any of the above cues, accuracy is hugely increased. I played terribly with my Scorpion cue, putting the Z² in play will make you win but you will lose friends and possibly get shot with accuracy it offers. It is forgiving unlike many have said the Z² is. The smaller tip diameter really made shots easy but required DEEP cuts therefore, forgiving if you make an error/overcalculation. It will become your style anyway if you play with a Z². The only flaw is is takes some time to get the hang of it if you've only played with 12.75mm tipped shafts.

Ranking overall

1st. Place P3 + Z²
2nd. Quiet Roller + Z²
3rd. P3 + 314²
4th. Quiet Roller + 314²

Another thing I forgot to mention. The testing of both these cues were (for me anyhow) about whether there was any performance difference between the Uni-loc P3 style or the Uni-loc Radial (screw in) joints.

I'll need to play again next week to tell you folks about the "feel" if there is any major difference using the Quiet Roller and P3 and their joints.

Edit: I forgot to mention a few disclaimers, information and warnings etc. I do not work for Predator and I was not paid to do the review in anyway or form. I would also like to make a statement that these cues are like machines, if they don't shoot well, it is either defective or human error (most commonly human error). If you don't play very well, it "should" improve your game. If not, hard to blame the stick. Predator cues/shafts just DO their job. I even noticed that if my aim was just a teeny bit off the Z² will miss the pocket by a hair (however that was rare).
