reminded (looked similar) me of Meucci but I'm not familiar with the logo. Seems like it was made years ago. I'd be interested to learn its history too.

If I remember correctly...

there was someone that posted a similar cue a few weeks or months ago. The design is an almost direct copy of a the McDermott D-4, which can be found at the McDermott website under services, retired cues. Supposedly there are alot of foreign knockoffs of the old D-series but that is the first one I have seen with a logo of any kind on it, kind of makes it interesting, and the other one i saw had a 5/16-14 pin, yours looks like a 3/8-10.

Hey Monski

I have a question for you ..i just purchased a cue from the Philipines..and was wondering of the quality of the cue makers there. I purchased it on ebay ..i have actually been carying on an ongoing conversation with the person who i bought the cue from ...what they explained to me was that they started a business that helps some of the local cue makers who cant get there stuff to an american market. I asked them to really make sure the cue was in great condition because i really am thinking about playing with it..if it hits good.shaft straight and a weight of 22 1/2 . They asked me if they could have a bit more time with the cue to compensate for the weight and the quality of the cue..which i had no problem with. I was just wondering ..its hand made and they "claim" that the inlay work is real and not painted or decals..(i hope so) I was just wondering if this was legit or if there are serious issue with people exploiting the hard work of cuemakers over there.

Looks like a McDermott cue to me.It might have been made for a billiard supply company or some thing by McDermott.

Just a flyer here..

Based on the logo, wasn't / isn't there a Star Cues run by Abe Rich, formerly of Rich Q. Maybe getting my wires crossed, but an avenue worth investigating.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Pizza Bob is right in that it is probably an Abe Rich cue. Ran across this excerpt from an article at MiamiNewTimes site:

"Abe was born Abraham Rutzisky in a village outside Kovno, Lithuania, in 1926, one of four children in a Jewish family that traces its roots to the Ural mountains.

Nazi sympathizers killed his father in the first few days of Germany's invasion of the Baltic countries in 1941, but at least, says Abe, his father never had to suffer the indignity of wearing the YELLOW STAR. During the liquidation of the Kovno ghetto in 1944, his mother and six-year-old brother were executed. Abe and his older brother Morris say their lives were spared in the Holocaust because of their woodturning skills. They were labeled useful juden, and worked from 1941 to 1944 in the Kovno ghetto making toys that were shipped to German children, and razor handles and shaving brushes for the soldiers. They then went on to labor in the Dachau concentration camp. When American soldiers literally picked up Abe in May 1945, he was nineteen years old and weighed 82 pounds."
