I'll start this off. What did I get. I got a chalk holder at Mullers. I bought a beutiful BE Maple and Cocobolo wrapless Rat Cue. And ordered a custom Sneakey from Kieth and Sherry Josey.

I met JB from JB cases. Several cue makers who post here and Royce from OB. And yes he is as nice a guy in real person as he is here. I met the owners of Joss Cues. I met a cue maker who's name escapes me but who knew obscure and neat cars as well as me. The fellow running the booth where I bought my Rat cue is a respected cue maker himself. Sorry to say without digging up his card I forget his name. Was an exceptionally nice and pleasant to talk to. He was one of the main reasons I bought the Rat. The folks at the Pechaur booth were great. Passed on a Pechaur again (second time I chose something over a Peach). Maybe next year I'll buy one at the show. The fellows at the Jacoby booth were first rate.

It was a real Eye opener for a first time visitor to the expo. Maybe next year I'll go for 2 days. It was a blast and I enjoyed myself tremendously. Please share your stories with the rest of us.

I met JB from JB Cases as well. Met and spoke with several cue makers, spoke with Royce from OB Cues again, talked to as many booths as I possibly can. Stopped by the Joss booth, met Stephen Janes. Spoke with Dennis Searing, he does really nice work especially with micro inlays, he was at Paul Daytons booth, a whole bunch of us gathered to admire the cue he was working on, it had gold bordered ivory inlays with ivory butt cap and joint, keith josey and jim buss were there too, no one would notice the gold inlays unless you look closely. Talked to Jim Buss about how the defense industry is doing. Spoke to Paul Dayton.
Stopped by the Fury booths, or rather the Sterling Gaming booths, where JB had a bunch of cases, inquired more about those, those vinyl cases really look like leather. Spoke to Schmidt and inquired about the new Extreme shaft from Fury, the new 10 piece radially consistent shaft that Jon Schmidt will be using.

The cuemaker next to RAT cues I believe is Troy Downey.

Saw Florian at the Mezz Booth doing trick shots, the parting shot before the booths were sectioned off on saturday was seeing how high he could jump the cue ball, or stacking DVDs to a height to jump over. Saw a young kid run out on Mika during the challenge match at the Mezz Booth, only to scratch after making the 9. Bell forest had some nice full splice blanks. At the end of the night saw some of the Pro Am tournament.

Drove 4.5 hours each way, 1 day trip, 24 hours of being awake, totally worth it.

I wrote a whole review of my first SBE experience in another thread. To sum it up though I bought a Mezz Cue from Caroline which is probably the best cue I ever hit in my life! I bought some T-shirts and trinkets for team members. I picked up a CueShark tip tool.

I went for one day and all in all it was a great trip and can't wait to go for more days next year.
