Eddie Agha was a Canadian Snooker Player from Montreal Quebec Canada who toured with George Chenier and played with my Father Dick Ponzie Leo Levitt Bob Paquette JULIEN St Denis of Hull Quebec

Eddie was Born in 1918 and at age 17 years old won the Montreal Amateur Champions. Agha won his first Quebec Amatuer Championships in 1948.

In 1960 he made two perfect games in Snooker 147 in Montreal Quebec Canada He later toured with George Chenier the North American Snooker Champion who was champion for 20 years

Later on he played Tony Knowles in Toronto Ontario and Tony at that time was ranked top 10 in the World. Also won against the late Bill Werbenuik who was also ranked top 10 in the World.

Thanks for posting this info. I haven't heard that name in a long time. I recall going (watching) to a few snooker tournament named after him.

I was also lucky enough to see Julien St. Denis play a bit, all though later in life, he frequented the Orange Monkey just a stones throw from Hull.

Eddie Agha was a great snooker player and played in Montreal Quebec Canada.

He played with my father Dick Ponzie George Chenier Bob Paquette
Cliff Thorburn Bill Werbenuik

He toured in 1960 with the late George Chenier across Canada

I think of him every day and will be sadly missed

For quite a long time, there were only three players that had run four centuries in a row.
Joe Davis, in an exhibition...
George Chenier, playing with his friend, Harvey Rothwell...
Eddie Agha.....his was the highest total points made...three of them were table clearances.
.....and it was a money match against a man who had beat him for the Montreal city title....
....that was Baker, one of Canada's best road players.

Chenier said he loved taking Eddie on exhibition tours, Eddie was fast and exciting and
could draw a bigger crowd than George could.

Eddie also ran a 150 at straight pool, he was no one-trick pony.
