Marlon Malano won the last 4 games to defeat the one man left, Cliff Joyner.
The game was worth $4600.
The players included Marlon, Cliff, Buddy Hall, Tony Chohan, Bobby Hunter, Santo and Jose Parica.
Buddy, Santos, Tony were winless in the first 6 games. Most of the games were won by Marlon and Cliff.
Hard Times and Hustlin USA, two hundred each, to the $4200 pot.
Danny Basavich had entered, but withdrew, my guess that he and traveling buddy Mike Davis made an early departure from the West Coast. This created the opening for Bobby Hunter.
The ring game lasted about 3 hours with some fantastic shots from eveyone playing.
A redraw every 6 games for order of play and also new wagers per game had little to do with the outcome. Marlon was is playing the best in the west and not breaking a sweat.
Manalo must be an absolute monster to take the Reno, Hardtimes, AND the freakin' ring game. Christ that's strong. 20K in a week? Who says there isn't money in pool? All you got to do is dominate some of the best players in the world...
Danny (Kid D) was getting tired and wants to focus on the Taiwan WPC anyway. Plus, he was involved in some heavy putt-putt golf action with my buddies that might of worn him out (buck a hole)
Seriously, no one in pool has as much going on right now as Danny and it's probably getting to the point where he has to decide where he wants to concentrate his time and energy. Flying all over the place, dealing with his business ventures and STILL being a super nice guy to all his fans has got to wear anyone out. Not that he's the Tiger Woods of pool yet or anything but it seems like anytime a pro doesn't take top 4 in a tourney three weeks in a row he's in a slump.
