Who's Taiwan's best, Yang or Wu?

Nevermind the slow break...get rid of alternate breaks! WTF was up with that? Keep the 1st round alternate break, and once we get into races to 11, 13, 17, switch back to winner break. I can't believe they made the entire tournament alternate breaks, it detracts from the very spirit of 9-ball.

Remember Wu won his WPC by running 5 racks against Kuo, who was already on the hill and never saw the table again. Alternate break robs us of that kind of 9-ball excitement. We knew who was winning this last WPC halfway through the match...

yea.. i think a lot of ppl would agree.. Alt break really sucks. they say they want to give a "fair chance" to everybody but its not really fair is it ?
Why ??.......

1) your local shortstop or even A player can break and run the racks they break.. if they have a good day then the alternate break would make for a pretty even match against a world champion. but if it was winner breaks it will show who really wins.. because the way a world class player controls the table by running out saftey ect.. if the A player gets a chance to control the table are they good enuf to control it as long as the world champion would ? i doubt it. BUT the shortstop/A player definitly can run one rack of nine ball. and put 1 on the score board just like the world class pro can.

2) with winner breaks if a player is behind in a match he has a chance to win. to run out the set. like wu vs kuo or yang vs archer. what is more exciting then a come back to the finish ? specially when the player himself is engineering that comeback. with alt break EVEN IF you come back the other guy must have started to suck all of a sudden or the luck of the breaks come to play .. ie not making a ball and leaving a shot on the 1 or scratching.. or just simply hooking himself. In other words.. for a winner break comeback its somthing to watch, if its a package comeback you will watch in awe. if your watching a alt break comeback its STILL not fun to watch. am i correct? watching one dude keep messing up on the breaks or f ing up the rack just to see the other guy come back.. IN PIECES. becuase the other guy has to break too !

3) I think they just need to make the matches longer. all races to 11 13 or 15 or make it best of 3 sets races to 7 winner breaks alternating the first break of the set. if i get the first break the first set you get the first break the second. that probably be even more exciting. they keep worrying about the guy coming up and running out the set in a race to 7.. so what ? make another set to 7 then.. if they really want to be fair. the other guy now has a chance to run 7 and out. the question is CAN HE ? is he as good as the first guy that ran 7 and out ?

but for these world class pros... a longer set seems to be the best..

races to 15. now each player has a chance to run some packages.. like the busta yang match. how much was that match talked about ?? it would certainly be on espn classics IF pool was that big. each player coming with a 4 or 5 to hit each other with. Who cant run a rack of nine ball ???? but only the world class players can come with packages on the regular. this is where they shine.. specially in nine ball.

they keep looking at nine ball as one rack.. you gotta look at it as the whole set.
they gotta stop comparing the alt break crap to tennis. WTF????? in tennis they play against the opponent. in pool you play against the table. in tennis i cant go and score a point against the top players. in pool i can run a rack of nine ball against a top player, specially if i keep getting a chance to do it.. all i need is a good spread.. in tennis if i get a chance to serve the guy better fall on his face because if he so much as returns the serve im dead. .. alt break to tennis comparison has got to stop.

ALT break to determine the world champ HAS GOT TO STOP. they got to use thier heads instead of looking towards tennis.
