Thanks for the info fellas.
I don't know if anyone out there has played this tourny, but let me say firsthand, it is a first class run operation. I played in '98 and '99, right before I gave up the game for a few years to return to college and try to make something of myself. I was playing better in '98, as I had already started school in '99 and was trying to be a weekend player. If I may pat myself on the back for a few minutes, in '98 I finished tied for 17th out of a total of 454 entries. I knocked out the defending champ from '97 and he had some real encouriging words for me after the set. I was amazed. To think that a guy who was trying to defend his title goes down 7-4 to some no-name...and he was all smiles with a hand extended to say, "great shooting. Stay focused and have fun, you could go a long way." I just thought that was the coolest move I've ever seen. Anyway, what I'm saying is that I learned a whole lot from that one match.
Most people lose more matches than they win. That's just the way it works...there's only one winner per tournament. I'm not saying that I used to be a jerk when I'd lose, not at all. I'm just saying that there are people that lose a tough hill-hill set and they're mad maybe 'cause their opponent got a lucky leave in the last game, and they turn into real jerks, to put it lightly. Everyone has seen 'em. Go ahead and be mad, but don't take it out on the guy that's still sitting on cloud nine because he got out on ya on the hill. Shake his hand and be nice dammit. What goes around comes around. Let him enjoy the moment.
Oh by the way, I plan on winning this tournament within the next five years. That's my goal, and I can't remember a goal from the last ten years that has not been accomplished...except winning the Powerball (a joke).
